Scope: Development of a specific tool to be used for the environmental impact assessments of some or all lifecycle phases of a general project conceived in BIM environment, starting from environmental certifications or declarations of construction products included in the model.

FEDspinoff activities: FED developed a tool which interacts with the BIM software Autodesk® Revit and quantifies the environmental impacts generated by the considered project; the project includes construction products in possession of an environmental product declaration or certification. The tool allocates the environmental impacts by EPDs to the construction products making up the model, and allows for the comparisons among different solutions in order to reduce the total impacts. The service is currently offered by FED. An updated version is under development in collaboration with BIMobject®.
